Abstract
Proficiency Testing (PT) and Interlaboratory Comparisons (ILC) play a critical role in demonstrating the technical competence of calibration laboratories and ensuring the reliability of measurement results. Accreditation requirements, such as ISO/IEC 17025 and related policies, emphasize participation in PT/ILC programs as a key component of laboratory quality management and continual improvement. By the end of the session, attendees will gain the knowledge and tools needed to strengthen their laboratory’s PT/ILC approach, improve measurement reliability, and sustain long-term accreditation compliance.
Giulia Suriani
Giulia Suriani is the Program Manager for the Calibration Laboratory Accreditation Program at the International Accreditation Service (IAS), where she oversees the technical quality and integrity of the program and supports laboratories and assessors worldwide. Before joining IAS, she worked at ACCREDIA, Italy’s National Accreditation Body, gaining extensive experience in quality management and metrology, and served as a Peer Evaluator for the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA). Giulia currently serves as Convenor of the ILAC Accreditation Committee Working Group on Metrology (WG Metrology), leading international activities on calibration, measurement uncertainty, and metrological traceability.
