Chandra B. Shahi
Biography
Chandra B. Shahi is a research scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), specializing in precision metrology and electromechanical system design. He is a key member of the design and development team for the Electronic NIST Torque Realizer Version 3 (ENTR3), an SI-traceable torque realization system with a measurement range up to 340 N·m that supports national metrology and Department of Defense applications. He also has experience performing high-precision mass calibrations in NIST’s Mass and Force Group. His earlier research included neutron interferometry, boron-10–based neutron detectors, and advanced experimental instrumentation. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Tulane University in 2016 and has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications in metrology and experimental physics.
