Biography

Dr. Catherine Martin holds a Bachelor of Arts in biology from the of St. Catherine University, St. Paul, Minnesota, Master of Science Degree in Quality Systems Management from National Graduate School in Falmouth, Massachusetts and Doctor of Business Administration in Quality Systems Management from National Graduate School in Falmouth, Massachusetts.

Catherine has served as the ASQ Los Angeles Section 700 Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Program Chair and Treasurer. She is certified as a Quality Auditor (CQA) and Quality Engineer (CQE) by the American Society of Quality. She is trained as a Lead AS9100 Auditor and is a Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist.

Catherine’s diverse background gives her a unique view of quality from several industries and an opportunity to study the best practices and winning strategies of these industries to improve performance. Her professional experience includes working or consulting in aerospace, defense, biotechnology, and healthcare. Catherine received the Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems Excellence in Quality Award. Her dissertation was to develop a forward-looking and risk-based approach to auditing and a risk support tool for aerospace and defense companies.

Catherine was a part time faculty member at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) where she taught Quality in the LMU Systems Engineering Leadership (SELP) graduate program. She is currently employed at Raytheon and is a part time Professor at California State University Fullerton (CSUF). She is an avid follower of the Galloway Run Walk method, enjoys cooking and loves to be outdoors.
